Go in Peace

A handful of local residents participated in a walk and vigil for peace hosted by the Zion Lutheran Church and Glendive United Methodist Church on Saturday, Jan. 23 at Lloyd Square Park. The event was organized after members of both churchs’ congregations expressed concern over recent national events and wanted to participate in a display of “overt peacefulness.” Above, participants walked from the park down to and along Merrill Avenue with a few holding signs with messages of peace. Right, Pastor Kevin Garman of the Glendive and Wibaux United Methodists Church provides musical accompaniment as those in attendance sang renditions of “Come and Find the Quiet Center” and “Peace like a River (It is Well with my Soul)” after returning to the park.
