May 6-7 is Give Local day in America. The Greater Glendive Community Foundation has visited with the Art Gallery about hosting another give local day or Glendive Gives Day at the Art Gallery. Last year with the pandemic, no give local day was held and many of our nonprofits could not hold fundraising events. It is hard to imagine Glendive without all the nonprofit organizations that make this a great place to live, work and play.

We do want to bring back Glendive Gives Day this year. This give everyone an opportunity to support causes important to our county and our well being, from arts and animals to youth and the Yellowstone. It’s a fun day to support your community. This is also a day of on-line giving so former residents and supporters can give no matter where they live. The address will be announced later.

Those giving in person at the Art Gallery at 109 N Merrill during the afternoon to the various non profit organizations like Eastern MT Community Concert Association, our museums to little growers during the afternoon are rewarded with an ice cream social, thanks to Cross Petroleum plus have the chance to win prizes.

This year a second session will be offered from 5-7PM after many get off work. This cocktail hour session offers wine and appetizers. Nonprofits who participate would bring an appetizer and a bottle of wine for the evening session. .

Any nonprofit wanting to participate in Glendive Gives Day would have a display or information about your organization and someone there to accept checks and donations and share about your organization.

If your nonprofit is interested in participating, contact anyone on the Greater Glendive Community Foundation board listed at or email by April 1. There is a lot of advanced marketing and training materials available so the sooner you sign up, the more you can let your supporters know.

The more you let your supporters know, the more successful the day will be. Everyone can be a philanthropist.

Save the day May 6 and give back to the place you call home.
